Quicksprout: Why You Shouldn’t Write A Business Plan

by Jarie Bolander on December 15, 2009

I will probably get thrown out of SCORE for saying this but I total agree with Neil about business plans. Writing a business plan for a venture backed startup is a waste of time. VC’s will never read it and the dynamics of your plans will change so often that keeping the thing insync will be next to impossible.

So, what do you need for a VC backed startup? Well, three documents come to mind: Executive Summary, Power Point Pitch and Financial Model. Anything else is just a waste for a VC backed startup.
