This post made me do a double take. Not because of his great aha moment (it’s a stellar one) but for the realization that most people don’t always understand or grasp life changing events until after they occur.
My management aha moment was the first time I had to lay someone off. At that point, it sunk in that this whole management thing is way harder than I thought. Up until then, my biggest management issue had been doing reviews.
